I love cake mixture although Spouse thinks it is the food of the devil, The garklet likes trying it when we're baking. However until recently all our cakes were eggless due to garklet's egg allergy so there was no risk.

Now we always buy free-range, lion mark eggs which is a UK scheme which requires flocks be vacinated against Salmonella: regular samples by the Food Standards Agency show that the percentage of lion marks eggs with salmonella is less than 1% if not 0%, so the risk of eating cake mix is minimal.

Jamie will whether I "let" him or not ;-) The big trick is managing to keep him enough under control that there's enough batter left to cook with.

Pretty much what violane said - if egg beaters instead of eggs. Salmonella, yum.
