Ultrasound this afternoon
This is going to be a really long day. My very first ultrasound is scheduled for 4:15. This is the day I'll find out if there are one or two surviving embryos, get to see the newly-developed heart beating, and get a sense of how healthy it/they are. I think I will be a nervous wreck by the time of the appointment. :-P
I'm coming up on 6.5 weeks, which means the embryo looks like this. It'll get a lot more human-looking at some point, but it seems sort of indistinguishable from most mammal embryos right now. And it's no longer microscopic but is roughly pinto bean-sized, which is pretty cool.
I'm queasy and crampy off and on lately. Nothing I'd actually call morning sickness yet, but the queasiness is definitely happening more often. The crampiness is annoying, but since I've had no spotting at all, it's apparently perfectly normal.
I had more blood drawn this morning, and I'll hopefully get to hear those numbers well before my u/s. A good number would at least ease my fear of the u/s showing something bad...
I'll post the news when I get home tonight! *bites nails*
