Last of the pictures from Grenoble

I'm in New York at the moment, and I'll post about the weekend and the Tony experience tomorrow. It's on CBS tonight at 8:00/7:00!
These are pictures I took on Sunday morning as went walked around Grenoble and shopped at the morning fruit and vegetable markets. I love the whole concept of a farmer's market and wish I could walk to one from my house, you know?

On Sunday afternoon, we went to the Abby of St. Antoine, about an hour's drive away. It's now a museum and tourist attraction, but it's in an incredibly beautiful setting.

We visited this 10th century chapel, Chappelle St. Jean. It's being preserved by a group of volunteers.

On Monday, we visited the town of Annesy, which sits on a beautiful lake in the mountains close to Geneva, Switzerland. It was a beautiful day, with perfect weather. The town has canals throughout the pedestrian area, which gives it a great deal of charm.

And that's all of the pictures! It was such a great experience, and I'm so glad I had the chance to go. I'm definitely interested in helping organize the next round, because I think we can get even more students to go. This sort of exchange is really great for them as well, and I want to support that kind of experience.
Overall, travel is an amazing sort of education. It changes you in ways that are difficult to quantify, which is maybe why people are either completely passionate about it or completely intimidated by it. Every time I travel, I bring something of the experience back with me and incorporate it into my life. Sometimes this is a conscious thing, and sometimes it isn't, but it always happens. And that's the reason why I travel, really.
